introducing... b&b baby!

Originally, I was hoping to get Bands & Bows Baby line launched about 3 weeks ago.  Well... time flies, and I wanted to make sure I was making something special for the littles ones out there, but its finally here!!

I've started out with 4 designs, all on different sized/ shaped baby clips.  Since I don't have a little one of my own to test these out on, I'll need to rely on customer testing to see how these hold up!  These are now in the shop, ready to go, in a whole bunch of different colors and patterns :-)

I've also done a major update on all my other items, adding in new ribbon colors and patterns.  I've also added in this gem, which is my new favorite hair accessory!

In other news, PJ and I had another fun- filled, super busy weekend.  We went on a little date, took lots of etsy pics, celebrated friends birthdays, and even did some shopping!  Here's a pic of us on our travels, at the Red Bulls soccer game on Saturday:

He's so silly!  Anyway, I hope your weekend was wonderful too, and that everyone's October is off to a great start!  I have lots going on for October, including a special project that I hope to show some pics of later this week :-)

two. more. days.

I cannot even begin to explain how excited/ nervous/ really really excited I am for this weekend (THE FAIR!).  I have a lot of things to wrap up in the next 2 days, but I think that I'm pretty well prepared.  The weather forecast is pretty much amazing as well, so that is working in my favor too :-D
I figured I could show you a last sneaky peak today of some of the beauties I photographed yesterday.  I used PJ's fancypants camera, a first for me, and I think the results are pretty fabulous!

I need to edit these pics before they go any further, and there are SO MANY to go through, but I'm really happy with the work that I (and PJ) have been doing!  Any guesses as to what might be my best seller?

a little preview...

As I'm sure you can guess, it's been chaos at Bands & Bows headquarters (my basement) the past few weeks in preparation for the Richmond County Fair this weekend.  I'm super excited to be selling my accessories for the very first time in person, and I have headbands, earrings, and barrettes galore! (or really, as much as PJ and I have been able to make without going insane)  Since I'm busy, I figured I would just give you a quick preview of the awesomeness that will be on sale at the fair!

Whew! That's a lot of headbands! ...and I've made more since this photoshoot, too.  Hopefully I'll find time to show a few more pics later this week, but I can't make any promises.
At the fair I plan to do a giveaway (any ideas for which designs I should use?), as well as accept custom orders.  It should be a busy weekend, but I'm really looking forward to it!

organize your treasures

its tuesday again and i'm trying to keep up with my treasuries!  this week, i figured i would focus back on my desk for a bit... now that it's DONE, i need some accessories to spruce things up... and where else would i look but etsy? i've defaulted back to my favorite colors here, but i know you expect nothing less from me... click to check it out!

sneaky peeky!

so, as promised... here's a sneak peek at the next 3 headbands i'd like to list in my shop!
the only problem is... they don't have any names!! so, the first to buy each of these headbands (by contacting me directly) will have the honor of naming it :-)

this is unnamed lady #1... you may remember it from my photo a few posts back... i love it, it's super fun, and i could make it in a variety of different colors! (basically, anything in THIS listing)

here is unnamed lady #2... a little less in your face than my usual designs, just a bit of fun texture... probably a lot more work appropriate than a giant bow or blob of ruffles haha! i can make this in any of the colors in THIS listing... plus a few others

and here is the last, unnamed lady #3... another big bow, another big smile on my face... i hope you like! i can make this in the same colors as #2... including the two colors shown here

you may be wondering where i've been, or maybe you're just like "whatev, barb gave up on this blog thing"... but i haven't!  so i'm back today to show a few pics of my most recent adventures!

of course, i went up to albany, and then troy... in albany i visited ili, dave, and erin... we made delicious margaritas, and some dinner too... i have no pictures of this (fail) :-(

BUT i DO have a pic of me and some lovely Alpha Gams at the advisor mixer we had at our chapter house in Troy!  I really love spending time with the girls (and i think they kinda like me too!)
On Saturday, I did one of my very favorite things... i went for a run with my sister!  regretfully, i didn't bring my camera with me while we ran (it was a really pretty day and we ran at the park)... however, i think we MORE THAN made up for it with this ridiculous "jumping" photo shoot after our run... you can see our little front porch picnic in the background:

other awesome news... i sent a headband to LONDON yesterday!  wahoo LONDON! it looked a little bit (or a lot bit) like this:

taking picturess!!

so this weekend i'm in albany/ troy.
i really wanted to take some pics of my craft swap project before i sent it out on monday, so i brought my picture taking stuff up here... my friend ILI lives in an apartment right across the street from the park in Albany, and its gorgeous... SO i decided to take advantage of the unseasonably beautiful sunshine today and take some pictures in the park!

thats my mess of stuff... i love taking pictures outside, but sometimes its a pain in the butt to shuffle all my stuff around... luckily, i had this giant shopping bag to bring it all out in...
I know you're wondering where i got that gorgeous mustard yellow leather bag (amazing right?)... well, its another Etsy find!  i BEGGED my mom for this bag for christmas, and referred her to http://www.etsy.com/shop/morelle , where gorgeous bags are a pretty common occurrence, check it out for yourself if you don't believe me :-)
ANYWAY, here's another pic of me being my usual self, posing with my picture setup in Washington Park

isn't the park so pretty this time of year?  some guy passed by while walking with his dog and told me i was "pretty hardcore coming outside to take pictures in january"... um, sir, its gorgeous out... why stay inside?
